Introducing “Because I Won’t Tweet…”

Top 10 Rea­sons for the Name of This Blog:

1. I can barely blog.
2. I am very, very old. Twit­ter is a sport of the young.
3. I’m a writer at heart, a talker by trade. Any­one who has faced the heat and length of one of my rants knows I can­not be held to 140 characte–
4. As I was say­ing, too damn short!
5. Think­ing before you speak/thumb/tweet is under-rated. I fre­quently need whole hours of chant­ing “calm blue ocean, calm blue ocean” before I punch “send.”
6. I’m old. There is noth­ing quite so pathetic as try­ing to keep up with the young by join­ing in with their pur­suits when your heart is not really in it.
7. I have noth­ing against Twit­ter or twit­ter­ers. Really. Its use for orga­niz­ing democ­racy protests in Iran or China, or just for get­ting a bunch of play­ful fools to show up on Metro for “no-pants day” is really cool. Mostly I like No-Pants Day.
8. Not sure the mes­sage the Democ­rats need for 2010 can really be summed up in 140 characters.
9. Two kids, run­ning my own busi­ness, cam­paigns are a tad demanding…my wildest dreams involve dis–con­nect and desert islands.
10. Did I men­tion I’m old?
